SICK INTERVIEW BRO!!!

Friday, October 10th, 2008

Rocco here- I’m still in Japan, and not only is this place just culturally awesome, but I’ve also played just about every damn game that Tokyo Game Show has to offer. I hope to share some impressions of ‘em either on the site or in our podcast soon.

In the meantime, though, I just thought I’d share an interview I just found out about. Brandon Sheffield interviewed me a while ago for Gamasutra, and it finally went up. You can read it either at Gamasutra or GameSetWatch. I know some of our interviews get kinda tired because of the same old questions (lol do u guyz ever get in truble???), but Mr. Sheffield actually asked some neat and different questions, so I thought it might be worth sharing if you have any interest in knowing our process a little more. Wait, we have a process?

Anyway, that’s all for now, I’m off to breakfast before TGS Day 3. I have hit the buffet at the same time as Sakurai almost every morning here. CELEBRITY SCOOP: That guy really likes cereal. Suck it, Perez.

See you next week for the new podcast.

TOKYO PHOTOS ARE GO!

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

Hey, Rocco here- I just thought I’d let you guys know that all my photos from Tokyo Game Show (and other assorted Japanese hot spots) are up in the gallery. You can click here to check ‘em all out on Flickr.

It took me all morning to caption all 300+ photos. So, you know, like… read those.

As you may have read on Newgrounds the other day, I collected a ton of free swag from Tokyo Game Show, and laboriously transported it back to the US for the sole reason of sharing it with every one of you. Let’s just say that if you like collecting bizarre Japanese promotional items… this may be a good time to order something from our online store. Just saying.

Things have been so busy for me since I got back from my trip. We’re juggling so many little secret things right now that I barely have time to sleep, much less play every effing game I wanted to play in 2008 being released all practically at the same time oh my godddddd. And to make things even more brutal, while I was gone my brother somehow managed to snag a copy of Little Big Planet for me before the recall happened. From what little I’ve played, I think the game is super endearing and a lot of neat, cute fun (I happen to like neat, cute fun, okay). I feel like the art director behind the game could use a serious raise, it’s pretty amazing. I wish I had time to like, you know, play it.

We’ll be back in the next few days with some new videos, and maybe a surprise or two. Our hardcore fans (and some newbies alike) will like what’s on the way. See you then!

ROCCO DROPS MORE TOKYO FOOTAGE! SURPRISES IN STORE?

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

Hey, Rocco again- I’m up super late (big surprise) because I just couldn’t sleep until I shared another juicy media nugget with you.

At Tokyo Game Show, I pretty much tagged along with the guys at The Behemoth the whole time (as was evident by this last week’s podcast), and I got some cool footage around their booth. It was really cool to see the Japanese reaction to an independent American game (the only one of its’ kind at the show). Check out this sweet clip from the show to see some of the experience of being there! It may not be as funny as Timbo, but it’s got heart! Don’t you want heart?

I think there’s one more bit of media from Japan to come… it’ll surface somewhere… soon.

Definitely come back here on Tuesday for a very special podcast episode- Paired with an announcement that may blow you away! Or at least, mildly gust by. Just… just come back Tuesday.
