There’s actually one funny thing we didn’t get around to mentioning in the podcast- This past weekend, we filmed a new skit (based on an assuredly popular title that at this time shall remain unrevealed). The moment we finished the skit and took our costumes off, we walked into the mall food court only to be met with these gentlemen rushing at us:

It was really weird! We thought we were being pranked back by the public or something, but apparently these guys were at the mall to see the Street Fighter movie. Mind you, these men are three days late for the movie’s debut, and dressed as characters who never appear in the film. You cannot find dedication deeper than that.

Fandom is funny. I saw people dressed up when they screened the Death Note movie there too! Only, they were girls inexplicably dressed like black cats. Is this a new trend? To dress up as characters you wish were in the movie? In that case, I’ll see you at the Terminator premiere, dressed as my favorite Disney character, Pinnochio. I was thinking of going as far as a glowing eye and a “P-1000″ nametag, but that’s just a little too much work.

A few quick notes before we part ways:

1. A lot of you have asked why there wasn’t a download link on our last video we posted. Well, the truth is, we’re kinda evaluating the whole downloading thing. Here at Mega64.com, we have always provided high-res copies of (nearly all of) our videos. And we want to continue to give you that option. The thing is, big HD video downloads like that hurt our bandwidth (which shouldn’t be surprising). On top of that, the only ad revenue we really make with Mega64 right now is through Youtube, and we noticed a lot of our recent videos getting downloaded from our site and put on some proprietary platform that we don’t get any hits from. Now don’t get us wrong, any publicity is fantastic to us. We’re not sad or anything here- We just have to move forward in the smartest way possible. And hey, it takes us a while to be smart! So we’ll get back to you on this.

2. Thanks for ordering merchandise from us! Some recent orders took a little while longer to ship, but everything’s fine now. The Post Office likes to be snotty sometimes and hold your stuff up. We assure you we’re giving them hell about it. Or at least, looking at them really meanly.

3. There’s been a dearth of spam threads on our forums lately. It sucks but we’re taking care of the problem as quick as we can. In the meantime, please don’t respond to those kinds of threads. Thank you!

We’ll be back in the next couple days with a new video. As usual, we don’t really feel like saying what it is. See you then!

Today’s Mega64 video offering is a video of our panel from PAX 2007. Sure, it has all the crazy video stuff edited out of it, which is like half the fun of any Mega64 panel, but you still get some interesting Q&A, right?

It’s actually funny to see how subdued this particular panel is. It’s a much quieter crowd than any panel we’d do at Anime Expo or any other southern California thing, really. I guess Seattle people are just their own brand of shy. This is where you can watch us exploit it!

IGN Insider folks this week can watch an additional video about our take on Street Fighter IV and the recent tournament extravaganza Gamestop did for it! You’ll see levels of halfassed that you never thought Mega64 or Gamestop were ever capable of!

We have some awesome stuff coming next week. A new video, a big announcement, and geez, maybe more?!

Well it’s Tuesday, and we all know what that means…. It means that we get to spend another hour of fun together. In this podcast we converse about The Watchmen, Mad World, Resident Evil 5, Dr. Drew, all while eating Japanese candy! We also mention the probability of us doing our 90th podcast live! Today marks a holy day for those among the Mega64 crew, for the game we’ve all been salivating over for the past four years, Resident Evil 5, has finally been released. We’ll be taking time this weekend to vanish from society and relinquish ourselves to the title. But before that, we thought we’d offer up what we thought to be the only thing better than hordes of infected Africans- a heaping ton of mindblowing cosplay.

Our new video, “Cosplayerz: Danze Fantaztic” is a short film that spans conventions and events in multiple cities and countries. It is eye opening, poignant, and unforgettable. In fact, Capcom might regret releasing RE5 today as a result of it. You can watch it here, or on Youtube in HD. And although we’re not doing it with all our new videos at the moment, this one, you can actually download in HD as well. For your Xbox or whatever!

Earlier this week, we announced our next podcast would be a live one. Well, we’re still not quite ready for the official launch of the legit Live Mega64 Podcast, but it looks like we’ll try a test feed during the show anyway. We’ll be going live around 8PM Pacific, 11 Eastern on Ustream- Come back here on Sunday night for the link info and stuff!

And lastly, we have one big announcement we can finally share- Mega64 is returning to GDC! We’ll be doing the videos once more (the fourth year in a row!) for the awards show at the Game Developers Conference. However, this year’s a little different- We’ll be showing new videos for BOTH the Independent Game Awards AND the main Choice Awards! Double duty! We’ve got some pretty insane videos lined up for the event- If you’re attending GDC, be sure to come to the awards and see them! If you can’t attend GDC, be sure to hover around Mega64.com in the days following the event… we’ll see what we can do.

GDC is our favorite event to attend each year (maybe alongside PAX). It’s like our yearly reward, to spend the week in the company of such a concentrated group of creative people in an industry we like so much. We’re really looking forward to going again!

But this is no time for such talks of gatherings. At this time, we load our respective game consoles, and bid our fans a fond farewell.
