We are proud to announce our new upcoming DVD- Mega64 Version 2 SPECIAL EDITION! This totally-not-as-hard-to-watch-as-Version-1 DVD contains a lot of material that went on to introduce a lot of people to Mega64 in general. Its content has always been very dear to us all, but we never thought the original DVD ever needed to be touched again. I mean, it was a perfect little snaphot of that era in Mega64, why mess with it?

Boy did, we eat our words. We recently went back into our extensive video archives to find HOURS upon HOURS of footage that we had somehow kept to ourselves and never released… So much footage that it warranted its own DVD release alone. We had classic Mega64 moments on tape that were about to be lost forever. We had to get this stuff out there- And it is ALL contained in the new Version 2 Special Edition, in addition to all the original episodes remastered and looking better than ever.

Version 2: Special Edition will have brand new “Five Years Later” anniversary commentary, extended/altered episodes, and even separate documentaries of uncut behind-the-scenes footage for ever single episode! There’s even some failed skits that just weren’t good enough to show anywhere. There’s more extras on this thing than any DVD should ever be able to contain (especially one this goofy).

We have been working relentlessly to bring you this DVD on the exact 5th anniversary of the original DVD- July 20th! It will be available right here at Mega64.com. Those of you attending San Diego Comic Con will be able to pick it up that day as well.

Now seeing how that’s all squared away, I can tell you the tale of how this podcast came to be. After shopping for suits and saying that there was now way we were going to do a podcast this week, we went to lunch at Fuddruckers and changed our minds! Thus, we did an impromptu podcast on Rocco’s iPhone! The quality of the video isn’t the best, but can we make up for it, by eating hamburgers and telling amazing Anime Expo stories?… Nope. There is no audio version this week, all I can say is…

It’s that time of year again- the legendary COSPLAYERZ saga continues with the latest chapter, DANZE BEYOND DETH. A critical stage is reached in the series, when mortality becomes a factor in each cosplayer’s lives. Can the characters portrayed by each costume shelter each living soul enough to keep them from death’s reaches? Or will the artificiality of their own visage only hasten their demise? In case you missed it the first time, we added our “Doug Huggem” video from Gametrailers to our Youtube archives. Now that THAT’S out of the way, it’s that time of year again- Mega64 is all summer’d up and ready for the San Diego Comic Con! It’s our FAVORITE convention every year, because we get to meet all you local jerks. It’s even more special this year, because we’re debuting a TON of new stuff at our booth this year. Here’s a brief list of the things you can expect to see at our booth:

-The whole cast/crew, there as usual to meet and sign whatever and whoever you demand!

-On July 20th, you can be the first to pick up the “Mega64: Version 2 Special Edition” DVD in person!

-You can also pick up our new CON EXCLUSIVE DVD, on sale for the first time at this year’s Comic Con! It features some of Mega64′s best videos from the past year, plus the exclusive new video “New Convention” that is ONLY on this DVD! Two mysterious characters from the past must unite to create a new convention, but can they succeed? SHOULD they?

-We’ll have a few new shirt designs on sale to surprise you! Of course, we’ll also have most of the shirts you see in our online store as well.

-We’ll be debuting some new video stuff… somewhere in the convention… at some point. Hmmm.

There’s even more where that came from, but that’s all we’ll say for now. But remember, as with past years, if you’re hardcore enough, ask us about the “Mega64 Trivia Challenge.” But only if you’re prepared- We’ll ask you a series of impossibly hard questions, which, if answered correctly, will net you a Comic Con Exclusive 2011 poster print… only 20 in existence! Are you brave enough for this challenge?
