Is it seriously that time again? We’re talking about more upcoming cons? Wow. Time flies. You’ve got to savor the summer ahead as best you can. Luckily, the crew here at Mega64 knows the best way to do it. Come to any of the upcoming conventions and meet us… Or try, anyway. Both of these are long sold out. So, uh. Hopefully you got tickets? If not, just pretend.

Our big initial announcement we’d like to make is our 2012/2013 CON EXCLUSIVE DVD. We are launching a brand new DVD that you’ll only be able to get at the conventions.  But what’s on it? That’s what we’ve been excited to tell you.

Our most hardcore fans and podcast viewers know that there was an anime convention panel we did years ago, that nobody knew about, that was so DISASTROUS we were banned from the convention entirely. It was one of the most awkward experiences ever, and was never spoken of again… until now. We have finally recovered the footage from an ancient hard drive and are releasing an HOUR LONG DOCUMENTARY of the event entitled “THE LOST CON” on our Convention Exclusive disc. It will be released at the cons and NEVER AGAIN. In addition to that, the DVD will also have a selection of Mega64′s best videos from the past year in stunning quality and sound! You will definitely want to pick one up.

This disc will be first available at RTX in Austin, Texas this weekend! We’ll have a booth on Saturday and Sunday. Come by and get ‘em while they’re hot. We will also have plenty of other stuff, including a BRAND NEW shirt design before anywhere else! Come check it out, and don’t forget about our panel- Saturday, July 7th at 3PM in the main theater!

After RTX, we’ll be heading straight into the San Diego Comic Con! That’ll be the next opportunity to get our Con Exclusive DVD- plus we’ll be debuting yet ANOTHER new shirt design! Plus other cool new surprise merch, too. We’ll have TONS of merch. Don’t even worry about it.

We’re also having our first Comic Con panel ever- Thursday, July 12 at 8PM in room 23ABC! You gotta be there for Mega64′s first hometown panel.

We also will discretely mention our long-standing Comic Con tradition… As we have for 8 years, we will be printing a total of 10 Con 2012 exclusive posters, only to be given out to those who complete our secret trivia challenge. Are you brave enough to try? Only the most hardcore will be able to answer our series of brutal Mega64 trivia questions. Ask about the challenge at the booth… if you’re up for it.

We also understand that many of you had an issue with the ending to OUR video when we originally released it. That’s why we have also released this alternate ending to our video. Rather than stick to our creative guns, we thought we’d pander to everyone with ice cream. Which ending is better?

The first Choice comes from Podcast 73 dating back to the 11th of November 2008, just after the 2008 elections, in which Rocco talks about the truth behind the Illuminati! Next is from Podcast 84, which aired on the 3rd of February 2009. Derrick talks about his Father watching the 2009 Mega64 interview on G4 and admiring Morgan Webb. The third and final Oldies but Goodies Choice of the week is from Podcast 85, where the Mega64 crew talk in depth about the Terminator movies. Podcast 85 was broadcasted on February 10th, 2009.

Bonus Choice! This one might not be as old but I can assure you it’s a great one! Two years ago on a Hot Sunday Night of the 27th of June 2010 for the Mega64 Live Podcast 145, DJ Doom called in! He talk with the Mega64 Crew about being suspended from the Mega64ums as well as Moen Water Faucets.

We’re back from RTX- and what a show it was! For a relatively young convention, we met so many cool fans.

Well it doesn’t stop there- We’re fresh off the plane from Texas and now getting ready for San Diego COMIC CON! We’ll be at the booth (Number 1435) all week, and our big panel extravaganza is Thursday night at 8PM in Room 23ABC! We’ll be showing sketchy stuff and answering your questions. Be there!

At our booth, we have just confirmed we’ll have TWO new shirt designs, and some RARE new posters! We’ll have tons of our other usual merch too (even some we haven’t had in stock for a while). And of course, make sure you pick up a Con Exclusive 2012/2013 DVD. These were given out FAST at RTX, so you want to make sure you pick one up as soon as you can. Don’t forget to ask about our trivia challenge, too… Only 10 exclusive poster prints will be made for it.

Next, the Choices for this week date back all the way from the beginning of 2007! The first Choice is from Podcast 8 which aired on the 1st of January, in which Derrick shares his idea of what the best solutions are in a police chase. Next is a Choice from Podcast 9 that was broadcasted on the 15th of January. Rocco starts talking about the Podcast getting a lot more traction and that a sponsor is needed, while Derrick brings up the subject of their favorite candy. The last two Choices come from Podcast 10, which was released on the 29th of January. Vincent D. emailed in to ask what are some websites that the Mega64 Crew frequented, and Zach Smith emails in to ask about the weirdest encounters with Mega64 fans.
