8/29/06: NEW VIDEOS ON THE WAY! NOW WATCH TOMMY TALLARICO CUSS

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

If you thought you knew CINEMA and FINE FILM, FORGET WHAT YOU KNOW.

Because on the way to Mega64.com is a couple new ads the crew has created for the upcoming PC game “Might And Magic: Dark Messiah.” And to commemorate this timeless series, we have created what may be the most epic video series ever created: The “BACKYARD MESSIAHZ” saga. Watch what happens when a group of underground fighters get inspired by Might and Magic in their own backyard! And by “their own”, we mean “their mom’s.”

Look for these videos in the next week or two, and prepare to have ALL HOPES AND EXPECTATIONS BLOWN AWAY FOREVER.

So what should we do to hold you guys over until the next batch of new vids? How about wacky outtakes!

So by now many of you have seen our Version 2 DVD, and saw our “Judgemental Night” skit featuring a totally bizarre multi-second cameo by Tommy Tallarico as “Harry Garry The Feral Child.” Pretty kooky, eh? Well what we’ve got here for you is a rare outtake from that segment in which Tommy stopped the scene to speak his mind! We had no idea what was going on.

Watch the wacky outtake here!

Tommy was such a cool guy. We take back what we said about him in the G4 pitch video.

You can see some of our photos with Tommy, among other stuff, in our new Version 2 Behind the Scenes Photo Gallery! Beware, though, if you haven’t seen the DVD there might be some spoilers in there!

We’ve also got the Horatio Screensaver Gallery! All the stunning photos of Horatio to make your own screensaver just like Dr. Poque’s computer in Version 2.

And we finally got our E3 2006 and Anime Expo 2006 pictures developed! It’s a friggin’ photo overload here!

Well that’s it for this update. As a matter of fact… this’ll be the last update in this format. The site will look totally different next time you see it! It’s gonna be all re-designed and slick, with some new videos to kick off the new digs. We’ll also FINALLY be starting the long-awaited Mega64 Podcast! Bout time, eh?

You’re gonna love the new stuff. See you next time!

9/3/06: ICO SKIT ONLINE, SITE REDESIGN, BIG BALL OF TWINE

Sunday, September 3rd, 2006

You can’t kick off a site re-design any better than this, folks- The epic and legendary Ico skit from the Version 2 DVD is now online! If you love tales of friendship, horns, and 2×4’s, you’ll love the Ico skit. Click above and give it a look!

Check out that skit and more on our new Version 2 DVD! Or wait for the Shadow of the Colossus re-release in Japan (we think it’ll be in there but they were kinda vague!).

Hey, we added new bios too!

We’ll be back soon with even more videos- We’ve got those spots for the new Might and Magic game ready to go. But will they premiere online…. or in the game itself?! Find out soon!

What do you think of the new look? Pretty snazzy eh? Almost as snazzy as, say… the Version 2 DVD menu artwork? Well, it just so happens they were worked on by the same person. Her name’s Kinuko, and you can click here for her site. You gotta check it out, it’s PACKED to the BRIM with INSANE amounts of CONTENT.

Enjoy the new look and come back soon!

(P.S: Alright, we heard you already! We just threw up the Version 2 DVD menu art in wallpaper form. There’s even wallpaper for your PSP. Check it out (Did Kinuko totally hog this update or what?))

9/21/06: HORSEAGRAM BEANIES ON SALE, OTHER NEWS

Thursday, September 21st, 2006

Straight out of the Version 2 DVD, we now have beanies in our merch section, sporting the DARK and SYMBOLIC logo of Dr. Poque’s favorite band, “TIM.” Each one of these lucky charms comes with a rare copy of our long lost Mega64 Comic Con 2006 DVD, which includes the Mega64 Comic Con Christmas Special, the lost Far Cry skits, Timbo, and much more! Check out this clip from Version 2 to see just how cool this beanie will make you:

Folks, I think the proof is in the pudding. Thanks for supporting us and be sure to come back real soon, as our trilogy of Might & Magic: Dark Messiah videos are going to be online very, very soon. We’ve also received confirmation that at least two of those videos WILL actually be included with the game itself! Maybe you should wait for that… any video series called “BACKYARD MESSIAHZ” deserves to be seen in the highest quality possible. We might also have some other surprises to announce. Could it be a return to more HD videos on Xbox Live? Could it be something for a new, strange, way-cheaper-than-the-Playstation-3 system? Oh, just you wait! No seriously, wait. We’ll be back.

9/27/06: MEGA64 PODCAST ON ITUNES, BLOGOSPHERE

Wednesday, September 27th, 2006

Subscribe/download the Mega64 Podcast!

Or get it from iTunes HERE! (Link will open iTunes for you)

Yeah that’s right, instead of just idly chatting with each other on a Sunday night and NOT recording it, the Mega64 crew has busted out the CompUSA clearance recording equipment to record a podcast for your listening pleasure! It’s pretty much us just talking crap for an hour, about games, movies, stories from behind the scenes of some of our crap, etc. So if that’s something you’d like to hear, listen away! Ha ha… sucker.

Our Might and Magic videos should be online any day now! We’re also told that the videos are now going to be “hidden easter eggs” in the new game, Dark Messiah. So don’t look for us on main menu or anything… we’re hiding.

We also just got done filming today for that ad we’ve been hinting about for a yet-unreleased console. Let’s just say filming went well, and it continues the fine Mega64 tradition of people getting absolutely pissed off over really, really stupid stuff. You WILL love it.

Back soon with new videos!

Oh and, by the way…

The Mega64 Podcast is featured on iTunes! In case you didn’t know, “New and Notable” in Apple-speak means “best podcast on iTunes.” I mean, obviously. Keep telling your friends about it and posting reviews on iTunes- we gotta make this podcast number one. We can do it! Heck, thanks for listening at all.

We’ll be back soon later this week with part 3, and a new podcast!

11/8/06: MEGA64′S ADS FOR THE SPIKETV VGA’S! MEGA64 ON MTV’S “GAMER’S WEEK!” NEW PODCAST! OH MY GOD

Wednesday, November 8th, 2006

In case you haven’t heard it in our brand new podcast episode 4, we have some big news! We are doing the ads for what gamers across he globe know as the greatest yearly television event ever assembled: SpikeTV’s 2006 Video Game Awards! You can click here to watch it, along with a bonus behind the scenes video! Pretty tight, no?

We also want to let you know that we’ll be appearing on MTV next week for their “Gamer’s Week” event thingy. We have a quick 30 second “Super Smash Bros.” clip that will run on MTV throughout the week- You’ll see it first on November 15th at 8PM in the show “The G Hole.” It’s seriously super short, but kinda cool, eh? I mean it beats them re-running another gay episode of Next.

Enjoy all the new stuff, we’ll be back soon with more videos!

11/22/06: NEW VGA COMMERCIAL, BEHIND THE SCENES INSANITY, PODCAST 5 FROM THE WII LINE, AND OTHER CRAP I BET!

Saturday, November 11th, 2006

Our second SpikeTV VGA ad has been released! It’s called “Vote,” and you can click here to watch it (as well as the bizarre behind the scenes video!).

We also have a new podcast up! It was recorded straight from the Wii line in front of a Wal Mart down here in San Diego county. It’s a little late because we had to lessen the ambient sounds (namely, crickets and guys driving by in trucks with airhorns yelling “ENTENDO FAGS!”)

After all that insanity, we thought we’d take a moment to say how proud we are of Mega64 right now. As you know, the Mega64 crew are pretty big fans of Jackass and the CKY videos- they really helped inspire our own show. This week some of the guys from those very productions gave us a very nice plug on Bam Margera’s Sirius Radio Show. It was just an offhand remark, but just that little thing really felt like it was bringing Mega64 full circle. It was a good feeling. We should chase it. I think we will.

Then we got word this week that Yahoo News is choosing to do a story on us, in a segment about successful websites (I guess if by “successful” they mean “pissing people off in bad costumes,” then we fit the bill). They actually want to come along with us on the filming of some new segments! They’re literally sending a cameraman who just got back from covering the war, so hopefully he’ll be brave enough to handle one of our grueling skits.

And even though we hit a speedbump with our MTV bits (The Smash Bros. bit never aired because they ran out of time, and according to them we “never should have expected it to air.” Alright.), it’s still been a pretty rad couple weeks. Thanks to everyone who’s been along for the ride (Including you, Shawn Chatfield). We’ll be back soon- Don’t forget about our day after Thanksgiving Mega64 marathon at GBSTV! See you then!

11/16/06: QUICK NOTE ON MTV, GBSTV, SPIKETV

Saturday, November 11th, 2006

Just a quick news update: We have no idea what happened with the Super Smash Bros. bit we made for MTV, or why it didn’t air. But they’ve been airing our Ghosts and Goblins and Tetris videos in full force during the show “Blastazoid.” The segments are hosted by some of our heroes- Rake Yohn and Brandon DiCamillo from Jackass and the CKY videos, which totally floored us!

It’ll be on tonight, Thursday the 16th, at 8PM (As well as many, many other reruns throughout the week).

We also wanted to let you know that on Thursday, November 24th, the day after Thanksgiving, we’ll be having a Mega64 Marathon on the popular web TV station GBSTV! It’s every episode of season 1 and 2 back to back, hosted by the Mega64 crew! Get your Christmas shopping done, heal your trample wounds, and then spend your entire evening watching Mega64 goodness, eh?

We’ll be back soon with our second SpikeTV VGA commercial, and another making-of video (a pretty unusual one!). See you then!
