PODCAST 81 BRING CES TO YOU (MINUS ANY RELEVANT TECHNOLOGY)

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

The Mega64 Podcast Episode 81 is now online! We talk about the more important announcements made at last week’s CES, as well as talk about comics, gaming guilty pleasures, and of course, Sabritones. We even attempted a rough live feed, like I mentioned earlier. Will the show collapse as a result? Download and see! Watch the video version below or subscribe to the left. Audio version here.

See you very soon with some more fun stuff!

PODCAST 82 IS GO FOR LAUNCH!!

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

Due to the lack of any real news today, we here at mega64 are proud to present, Podcast 82. Once again, we streamed this podcast live. What was meant to be a live stream of just the podcast instead turned in to an all night, 12 hour marathon of endurance. We were joined in our lack of sleep by many of you, and for that we tip our hats. Anyone who can sit there and watch Rocco recite half of “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” is more man than I. For those of you who missed our half a day live stream, fear not, we still have the original podcast here for your viewing pleasure, and with the lack of things on TV today, what else are you going to do with your time. Audio folks click here!

Thanks guys, I am sure we will do something like this again, and next time we will give you all much more of a heads up.

HEY LOOK AT THIS!

WAIT NO MORE, IT’S PODCAST 84!

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

We are back this week for podcast 84. In this podcast we are back in the studio to relive our adventures of the last week. We talk a little more about our time at G4, and how much fun we had there, plus we get into the some of the mysterious things we have been filming. I should also mention that our new live podcast format is close at hand. We will tell you guys ahead of time when it’s going to be, but I’m just saying get your Sabritones, Red Bulls, and Skype accounts ready cause it’s going to be amazing. For now however, let’s focus on the task at hand. To enjoy podcast 84 with your ears, click here!

For all you IGN Insider subscribers, our new video “DevJamz” just went up. See what happens when we freestyle rap about our favorite game developers, and programming software! No really, we just turned the camera on and said whatever came to our head.

That’s all for right now. We will be back soon with some more news, and maybe even a new video?

WHO KNOWS!

PODCAST 85 IS ALIVE!! (BUT WHAT ABOUT THE OTHERS?)

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

It’s Tuesday, and that means The Mega64 Podcast Episode 85 is now up for your audio/visual pleasure. If you like the Terminator, Steven Seagal (or his fluids), or the Civil War, this podcast is RIGHT up YOUR alley. Watch below or subscribe to the left! Click here for audio version.

I’m updating myself tonight to apologize- We’ve been meaning to put up a whole slew of new videos lately, but things keep getting messed up. We have some videos in the pipes that we’ve made on our own, and some through deals with others, and every time we go to release one or the other, the timing doesn’t work out or steps on another video’s release or something. I know that is completely vague and, frankly, uninteresting, but it’s the truth. We like to bombard you with “funny vidz” as much as we possibly can, so we get bummed when we’re not doing that. But fear not- the first of many new videos for 2009 might be surfacing as soon as later today! Please feign excitement.

It’s been just a lot of weird snags in general lately. Watch the podcast to hear what other strange fates have befallen us (especially with our merch).

Enough of all that. What have you guys been playing lately? To de-stress a little before the upcoming late-February game onslaught, I’ve been catching up on some older games that I never got a chance to check out before. As much as I swore against it, I actually started playing Fable 2 recently. I thought I’d give the series a thorough try, given that I’d written it off before on not much more than a glance. I’ve into it much more now, and completing a lot of quests and whatnot- But I have to wonder, is there a lot more to it? I’m not terribly deep into the game, but I feel like it’s kind of a neat timewaster and not much else. I’ve seen people speak pretty deeply about this series, and I wonder if maybe I just haven’t played long enough yet? I dunno, should I keep going?

I’m probably gonna pick up Loco Roco 2 this week, too. As much as I got kinda tired of the original one by its end, I am still finding it difficult to say no to colorful bouncy blob guys that sing for me.

I am also getting Street Fighter on Blu Ray, but the reasoning for that is more along the lines of I’m an idiot.

Stay tuned for some new stuff, soon. Finally.

PODCAST 86 IN THE MIX!!

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

So there were some technical difficulties getting today’s podcast to you. We gave you a new skit from our musical instead. Was that not enough? It wasn’t? Well, this is probably not going to go over well with you, then.

The podcast you’re getting today is a pretty brief one- We’re right in the middle of shooting a ton of huge video projects, so we had to kinda hurry it up. In fact, we were forced to consolidate podcast-time and taco-time into the same half hour. But the important thing is that we do still discuss our recent “HAWX” and “Elite Beat Agents” videos. So there’s that.

Watch below or subscribe to the left! Download the audio version here.

The Elite Beat Agents video has been getting around! We just saw it on Joystiq, Kotaku, and a few other places. You guys are awesome for passing it around so much. Keep it going! Between this and last week’s HAWX video, we’ve had more publicity then we probably ever really deserve.

As you can tell from the podcast, we’ve been pretty busy with our musical and other stuff. Last Friday we had the final big day of filming for the former, and it couldn’t have gone any better. We had a fantastic location, and a bunch of fantastic fans who showed up to be stars for the day. I really wish we could show what we filmed now, but it’ll have to wait for the Version 3 DVD. Releasing little clips like “Elite Beat Agents” helps though- If only for getting instant gratification for an extremely long editing haul. I mean, not that the Mega64 system didn’t spit that video out itself, but… I mean, if it WERE edited on a non-linear editing application, it might have looked something like this little hassle here. Yeah. Yeesh.

Anyway, hope you enjoy this week’s stuff. We’ll be back soon with even more videos.

PODCAST 87 IS THE 87TH PODCAST

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

It’s been another busy week here at the Mega64 headquarters. In the midst of all the filming, editing, and laughter, we filmed this little number for you. In this podcast we talk about the Academy Awards, give our review for 50 Cent Blood in the Sand, and talk about french fries. I would go as far as to say that this podcast is irresistible. Click for audio!

That’s all for now. We’ve got a few new things that just might be coming out, so come back soon.

PODCAST 88 IS A LITTLE BIT “CRAZY” (KILL BILL REFERENCE)

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

The Mega64 Podcast Episode 88 is up. We settle down for a post-filming breather to talk about our most recent couple videos (HAWX & Killzone stuff), Street Fighter IV, World of Goo, Dick Tracy, and of course, your emails. Watch below or subscribe to the left. Click here for the audio version!

There’s actually one funny thing we didn’t get around to mentioning in the podcast- This past weekend, we filmed a new skit (based on an assuredly popular title that at this time shall remain unrevealed). The moment we finished the skit and took our costumes off, we walked into the mall food court only to be met with these gentlemen rushing at us:

It was really weird! We thought we were being pranked back by the public or something, but apparently these guys were at the mall to see the Street Fighter movie. Mind you, these men are three days late for the movie’s debut, and dressed as characters who never appear in the film. You cannot find dedication deeper than that.

Fandom is funny. I saw people dressed up when they screened the Death Note movie there too! Only, they were girls inexplicably dressed like black cats. Is this a new trend? To dress up as characters you wish were in the movie? In that case, I’ll see you at the Terminator premiere, dressed as my favorite Disney character, Pinnochio. I was thinking of going as far as a glowing eye and a “P-1000″ nametag, but that’s just a little too much work.

A few quick notes before we part ways:

1. A lot of you have asked why there wasn’t a download link on our last video we posted. Well, the truth is, we’re kinda evaluating the whole downloading thing. Here at Mega64.com, we have always provided high-res copies of (nearly all of) our videos. And we want to continue to give you that option. The thing is, big HD video downloads like that hurt our bandwidth (which shouldn’t be surprising). On top of that, the only ad revenue we really make with Mega64 right now is through Youtube, and we noticed a lot of our recent videos getting downloaded from our site and put on some proprietary platform that we don’t get any hits from. Now don’t get us wrong, any publicity is fantastic to us. We’re not sad or anything here- We just have to move forward in the smartest way possible. And hey, it takes us a while to be smart! So we’ll get back to you on this.

2. Thanks for ordering merchandise from us! Some recent orders took a little while longer to ship, but everything’s fine now. The Post Office likes to be snotty sometimes and hold your stuff up. We assure you we’re giving them hell about it. Or at least, looking at them really meanly.

3. There’s been a dearth of spam threads on our forums lately. It sucks but we’re taking care of the problem as quick as we can. In the meantime, please don’t respond to those kinds of threads. Thank you!

We’ll be back in the next couple days with a new video. As usual, we don’t really feel like saying what it is. See you then!
